“Nothing would grow there” wasn’t a fact about the soil. It was an agreement not to try.

So much clinical work begins in exactly that patch. What changed it was not a plan, but attention across seasons: noticing what held, what returned, what needed to move.

The evergreen grasses at the center, something steady to return to, then everything else allowed to come and go.
